To kick off this blog, Jana and I got together and did what we do best—we went shopping! I drove up north to check out her awesome new apartment, and naturally we had to buy some things for it. The day started at Ikea (Jana will tell you all about that soon), then we headed over to Fourth Street in Berkeley for our Anthropologie fix.
A typical trip to Anthro involves us exclaiming, "That's so cute!" more times than anyone should ever say in a lifetime. And this trip was no exception.
Anthropologie may be partially to blame for my owl obsession. But really, when the cookie jars are this cute (there's that word again!), how can I resist?
Of course, the store has gorgeous clothes. If only I had someplace to wear this, I might be able to justify buying it:
Jana and I had a disagreement about these shoes. I think they're stunning (if somewhat impractical for my life), but she's not so crazy about them:
I think she approves of these, though (and I know I do—I'll take one pair in each color, please!):
And of course, she had to check out the purses:
I managed to get out of the store without buying anything (guess that means we'll have to go back!). Jana bought a cute salt and pepper shaker set that she's been eyeing for ages.
We ended the day with a trip to Fentons, an Oakland institution for more than a century, for sundaes. I had to have caramel, of course, while Jana went for hot fudge.
Where do you stand on the contentious shoes—yea or nay? And what topping do you prefer on your sundae? Let us know!
